D\u00e8s lors, l\u2019inventaire des lieux se complique d\u2019un flou m\u00e9moriel concernant l\u2019instant de la mort du p\u00e8re, et prend des allures d\u2019adieu rituel. Malgr\u00e9 l\u2019apparente banalit\u00e9 des circonstances (le rangement, la mise en carton avant d\u00e9m\u00e9nagement), l\u2019intimit\u00e9 des entretiens fait na\u00eetre, dans la simplicit\u00e9 de son enregistrement, une \u00e9motion qui semble avoir tard\u00e9 \u00e0 se dire. Seul cet \u00e9change tardif semble \u00e0 m\u00eame d\u2019achever un deuil entam\u00e9 il y a pourtant quinze ans. En lieu et place de r\u00e9cits attendus qui partiraient des objets rang\u00e9s, le film se fait l\u2019\u00e9cho d\u2019un point commun entre la m\u00e8re et sa fille : la passion de la collection. Derri\u00e8re la vocation p\u00e9dagogique de la m\u00e8re (qui compte instruire ses petits enfants avec ses bo\u00eetes de scarab\u00e9es ou de coquillages) comme derri\u00e8re les plans que collecte la cin\u00e9aste avant de quitter les murs, on devine la m\u00eame certitude qu\u2019engranger reste une garantie contre l\u2019\u00e9vanescence de la m\u00e9moire.
